- Add water, corn syrup and sugar to a med size heavy bottom sauce pan. Stir just until sugar is dissolved, add on your candy thermometer and boil without stirring til mixture reaches 250°F. Remove from heat and stir in food coloring and flavoring. Let cool slightly, not to much, just for a min or so..
- Meanwhile use the butter to grease a baking sheet or wax paper, set aside. Insert sticks into the center of each apple.
